
The Asus EEEPC has been around for a while now and has managed to accumulate a large fanbase. Its small dimensions and easy modding potential have made it the ideal choice for hackers network security technicians running backtrack. But support for the eeePC’s hardware have been a bit hit and miss.
All this has changed with the release of a backtrack port aimed specifically for these ultra portable laptops. Once installed it will automatically configure and install your eeePC hardware, you’ll be sniffing packets in no time :) Monitor mode and injection are fully supported with the eePC’s internal WiFi card.

A great software package that is included as part of the Dynebolic Boot DVD is Hascii Cam. A quick explanation is below….
‘HasciiCam makes it possible to have live ascii video on the web. It captures video from a tv card and renders it into ascii letters, formatting the output into an html page with a refresh tag, or in a live ascii window, or in a simple text file. It gives the possiblity to anybody that has a bttv card, a unix box and a cheap modem line to show live (h)ascii video can be viewed without any need for extra applications, plugins, java etc.’
The package allows you to input images or video and have it converted to ASCII animations. It even allows you to input live video and have it streamed to your website as ASCII in realtime
